Wilmington, DE – May 15, 2017 – Partners in Health and Wellbeing, a practice providing LGBTQ support for people of all ages, has grown into one of the largest collaborative therapy practices to serve the entire state of Delaware.

Partners in Health and Wellbeing was founded in 2010 with the goal of helping Delawareans reach emotional wellness by taking a mindful approach to therapy. The psychotherapy practice serves Delaware’s youth and family communities by specializing in LGBTQ support and care, gender identity issues, eating disorders, trauma, sexual problems and other issues impacting mental health.

The practice, formerly Center for Mindful Change, began as a small office in Wilmington. The center eventually opened two additional offices in Lewis and Newark, and changed the name to Partners in Health and Wellbeing to reflect the focus on collaborative care for patients. The team’s expansion led the practice to move their Wilmington and Southern Delaware locations to larger offices.

Jan Rudzinski, CEO of Partners and Health and Wellbeing, believes the practice’s success is due to the broad clientele served, saying, “It’s extremely difficult for the transgender community and adolescents to find the emotional and physical support they need. Here, our therapists specialize in helping not only adults, adolescents and families, but also LGBTQ individuals. We help all patients with a variety issues.”

As the practice grew, Rudzinski recognized the opportunity to treat patients using acupuncture, and on-boarded a licensed acupuncturist who serves the Wilmington location. Rudzinski said, “The mind-body connection that acupuncture implements falls perfectly in line with our mindfulness-based approach to therapy.”

Growth has been a major focus for Partners in Health and Wellbeing in year 2017. When asked if there will be any additional offices opening soon, Jan replied, “For now, we won’t open any more offices, but we look forward to building up the Newark location and moving it to a larger facility in the near future.”
